This role provides an exciting opportunity to design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable Linux-based infrastructure supporting critical enterprise operations. The Senior Linux Systems Engineer will leverage automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform to streamline deployment and management, while collaborating with IT teams to optimize system performance. The position involves working with modern virtualization technologies, container orchestration platforms, and VMware vSphere with Tanzu to enable efficient application delivery. This role is ideal for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys continuous improvement, ensuring platform reliability, security, and compliance. The engineer will play a key part in incident response, performance optimization, and vendor management, contributing to both technical excellence and operational efficiency.

• Design, implement, and maintain Linux-based platform solutions with a focus on scalability, security, and reliability.
• Configure and manage automation and infrastructure-as-code tools, including Ansible and Terraform, to streamline operations.
• Monitor system performance, conduct routine maintenance, and perform updates to ensure optimal platform operation.
• Develop automation scripts to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.
• Implement security measures, conduct assessments, and support compliance audits.
• Respond to platform incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate platform systems and provide technical guidance to staff.
• Maintain detailed documentation and generate reports on performance, security, and usage.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to infrastructure, processes, and emerging technologies.
• Manage relationships with vendors and support asset management aligned with organizational needs.

Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Linux systems engineering or similar platform roles.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration, virtualization technologies, and container orchestration platforms.
• Knowledge of VMware vSphere with Tanzu (VCF) or similar platforms.
• Strong scripting skills and experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) practices.
• Familiarity with security best practices, compliance standards, and incident response procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Security+ certification or equivalent required; additional relevant certifications a plus.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical mentorship.
