Team: Business Development

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Regional Vice President, Business Development – Biospecimen based in the United States.

This senior leadership role is responsible for driving strategic growth across biospecimen services within a defined territory. You will own revenue generation, new business acquisition, and expansion of existing client relationships across pharmaceutical, biotech, and CRO markets. The role combines high-level commercial leadership with hands-on deal execution in a complex scientific and services-driven environment. You will lead and develop a regional business development team while shaping go-to-market strategies and strengthening cross-functional alignment. This position requires deep industry expertise, strong scientific fluency, and the ability to translate client needs into actionable operational solutions. Operating in a fast-paced and highly technical setting, you will play a key role in expanding access to critical biospecimen solutions that support research and clinical advancement.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be accountable for leading regional business development strategy, managing performance, and accelerating revenue growth across biospecimen service offerings. You will also act as both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor, ensuring execution excellence while guiding your team to success.

  • Drive new business development and expansion of biospecimen services across assigned territory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients across pharma, biotech, and CRO organizations
  • Lead, coach, and support a regional team of Business Development professionals
  • Oversee deal execution including qualification, feasibility assessment, pricing, and contract development
  • Partner with internal teams (Operations, Technical, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Support) to deliver client solutions
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, events, and client meetings
  • Ensure accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM discipline
  • Contribute to marketing strategy, large account management, and cross-service line collaboration
  • Requirements:

    This role requires a seasoned commercial leader with deep experience in life sciences services and a strong track record of building client relationships and driving revenue in complex, technical environments. You should be both strategically minded and execution-oriented, with the ability to lead teams and close high-value deals.

    • 7–10+ years of business development or sales experience in pharma, biotech, CRO, or life sciences services
    • Proven success selling biospecimen, biobanking, sample processing, or related scientific services
    • Experience managing and developing commercial or business development teams
    • Strong understanding of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and structured pipeline management
    • Ability to operate independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
    • Strong communication, negotiation, and executive-level relationship management skills
    • Background in life sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field preferred
    • Willingness and ability to travel up to 35% domestically and internationally
    • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred
