This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Area Applications Manager based in the United States.

This is a senior regional leadership role responsible for driving performance, quality, and customer experience across a multi-site field applications organization in the diagnostics space. You will oversee managers and their teams, ensuring consistent execution of operational standards, customer support excellence, and workforce capability development across a broad geographic territory. The role blends strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership, requiring strong financial discipline, cross-functional coordination, and data-driven decision-making. You will be accountable for translating enterprise priorities into regional execution plans that optimize capacity, productivity, and service delivery outcomes. Acting as a key integration point between service, commercial, and operational teams, you will help resolve systemic issues and elevate overall organizational performance. This is a high-impact leadership position in a mission-driven environment focused on improving patient outcomes through diagnostic innovation.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead regional field applications operations across multiple sites, ensuring performance across quality, delivery, customer experience, cost efficiency, and workforce effectiveness.
  • Manage through a hierarchy of people leaders, developing leadership capability, driving engagement, and ensuring succession readiness across the organization.
  • Build and execute regional operating plans including demand forecasting, capacity modeling, prioritization, and resource allocation decisions.
  • Own financial performance for the region, including budget management, controllable expenses, productivity optimization, and cost discipline.
  • Establish and maintain a structured operating rhythm (daily management and performance reviews) to translate data into actionable improvements.
  • Serve as the primary integration point across service, sales, operations, and commercial teams to resolve cross-functional issues and align execution.
  • Lead large-scale or cross-regional initiatives that drive measurable improvements beyond direct organizational scope.
  • Ensure consistent application of operational standards and continuous improvement practices aligned with enterprise systems and goals.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 12+ years of experience in operations, service leadership, or applications management.
    • Proven experience managing regional or multi-site operations with accountability for quality, delivery, customer satisfaction, and productivity outcomes.
    • Demonstrated leadership of leaders, including managing managers or supervisors in a structured organizational hierarchy.
    • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, controllable expenses, and operational efficiency targets.
    • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving service, sales, operations, or commercial teams in complex organizations.
    • Background in diagnostics, healthcare, or regulated environments is highly preferred.
    • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills in matrixed organizations.
    • Ability to travel up to 50% across the assigned region, including overnight travel as required.
    • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to handle light field equipment when necessary.
