This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, IT Infrastructure and Operations based in the United States.

This senior leadership role is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise infrastructure strategy that powers a global, high-growth technology organization. You will lead large-scale teams spanning cloud, network, infrastructure, and IT operations, ensuring secure, resilient, and highly available systems that support business-critical services. The role blends strategic vision with hands-on operational accountability, requiring the ability to modernize legacy environments while scaling cloud-first architectures. You will partner closely with executive leadership to align infrastructure priorities with business objectives and long-term growth plans. In this role, you will drive transformation through automation, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement across global systems. This is a high-impact position for a leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments and is motivated by building scalable, world-class technology foundations.

Accountabilities:

  • Define and execute the global IT infrastructure and operations strategy aligned with enterprise business priorities and long-term transformation goals
  • Lead and develop a distributed global organization across infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, data centers, and end-user computing teams
  • Drive cloud modernization initiatives across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including migration, optimization, and architectural evolution
  • Ensure operational excellence by maintaining highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure services across global environments
  • Oversee ITIL-based processes including incident, problem, change, and release management to improve service reliability and performance
  • Champion automation, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code to improve efficiency, scalability, and resilience
  • Strengthen cybersecurity, compliance, and risk posture in collaboration with security and engineering leadership teams
  • Lead disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and enterprise resilience strategies
  • Manage executive-level stakeholder relationships, providing strategic input on infrastructure investments, priorities, and risks
  • Oversee vendor strategy, contract management, and infrastructure cost optimization initiatives
  • Requirements

    • 12–15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, operations, or enterprise technology leadership roles
    • 7–10+ years of experience leading global teams, including managers and senior technical leaders
    • Deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, systems architecture, and IT operations frameworks (ITIL)
    • Proven track record leading large-scale cloud transformation and modernization programs
    • Strong executive presence with demonstrated ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
    • Experience managing large infrastructure budgets, vendor ecosystems, and cost optimization initiatives
    • Strong understanding of security, compliance, disaster recovery, and enterprise risk management principles
    • Highly effective decision-maker in complex, high-pressure, and fast-evolving environments
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)
    • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, AWS/Azure, CISSP, or TOGAF are considered a strong plus
