Senior Finance Analyst - Growth

Growth at Instacart is defined as Gross Transactional Volume (our topline metric), which represents the billions of dollars of products that flow through our platform. We are looking for a Senior Finance Analyst of Growth to join our team. You will have a meaningful impact on a fast-growing, innovative startup providing financial support to the executive team. This includes using analysis and insights to inform forecasting, monthly and quarterly business review processes, board and investor materials, and other ad hoc projects in partnership with key cross functional stakeholders.

As a Senior Analyst, you have both strong attention to detail and the ability to consider the big picture to drive strategic and investment recommendations. You are highly analytical and a clear, confident communicator.

• Be a key member to the monthly, quarterly and annual Growth forecast leveraging cross-functional partnerships, in collaboration with Data Science, Product, Retailer, Biz Ops, and Marketing
• Partner cross-functionally to determine impact of strategic initiatives and how it impacts Instacart’s growth trajectory
• Partner with StratFin/Market Intelligence and BizOps leads to generate monthly and quarterly performance and forecast reviews, board meeting and investor presentations, and other financial review presentations 
• Prepare insightful analytics for cross functional leadership team; identify areas of opportunity to help develop Instacart’s strategic direction
• Develop, monitor, and drive deeper understanding of our KPIs across the company. Identify opportunities to improve existing reporting processes and key metrics tracking
• Support long range strategic planning and scenario modeling

Key Initial Projects may include:

• Conceptualize and implement additional ways to forecast growth
• Improve our Growth forecast accuracy by triangulating different types of forecasting and engaging different cross functional business partners
• Develop models to forecast new lines of businesses
• Roll out and improve Key KPI BvA reporting monthly and weekly snapshots

• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Economics, Finance, Business or other related field. 
• 2-6+ years work experience in a relevant field with demonstrated financial acumen and a track record of leveraging data for business impact. 
• Proficient SQL skills
• Highly proficient in advanced Excel with strong attention to detail
• Prior experience working in Growth for a large consumer-facing marketplace a plus
• Ability to use data to identify and quantify opportunities for growth or profitability improvement
• A self-starter with a positive attitude and ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
