Job Description

Meet Upside:

We created Upside to help communities thrive! Our retail technology uses the sophistication of online retail—profit measurement, attribution, and incrementality—to provide users with more value on their everyday purchases and brick and mortar businesses with new, profitable customers. We’ve helped millions of users earn 2 to 3 times more cash back than any other product, and tens of thousands of brick and mortar businesses earn measurable profit. Billions of dollars in commerce run through the Upside platform every year, and that value goes directly back to our local retailers, the consumers they serve, and towards important sustainability initiatives. Our mission, values, and commitment to inclusivity guide our team of more than 300 people worldwide, and the quality of our culture is reflected in the impact we’ve had on communities nationwide. You’ll join a Team whose experience hails from places such as Google, Uber, Amazon, Instacart, Capital One, and MasterCard with proven startup executives and venture capitalists.

Upside was named #2 on Deloitte's 2021 list of Fastest Growing 500 Tech Companies andĀ  #308 in Inc.’s America’s fastest growing private companies of 2022. Upside’s Series D funding was raised in March 2022 and led by General Catalyst at a $1.5 billion valuation. Other investors include Bessemer Ventures and Formation8.

Meet the Recruiting Team:

Our People Team is rapidly growing alongside the rest of the company, and we’re looking for an in-house Technical Recruiter to join us! In this fast-paced and highly-consultative role, you'll partner with the business, working side by side with our Engineering, Data, and Product hiring managers to find and hire the best possible talent across the country. You’ll lead the hiring process from role kickoff to offer while working with the TA team to continuously iterate and optimize our process, tools, and candidate experience.

What you'll do:

  • Own, lead and drive the full life-cycle recruiting process, from sourcing to closing for the Engineering, Data, and Product teams. Our team is small, so there's a lot of opportunity to make your mark with how you do that!
  • Cultivate, create and maintain strong partnerships with hiring managers, candidates, team members, and cross-functional team members.
  • Proactively source a diverse pool of candidates through various channels, building and maintaining a strong network through market research, community building, and ongoing relationship management for short- and long-term opportunities for a variety of positions.
  • Communicate, advise, and report on sourcing and recruiting strategies, market trends, and the health of the candidate pipeline to the hiring managers and TA leadership.

What you need:

  • Experience & Passion. You thoroughly enjoy full-lifecycle recruiting and have been doing it for at least 3 years at a software tech company.
  • Sourcing chops. Most of our hires come from sourcing efforts, which is a huge badge of honor! Experience engaging and converting diverse prospects through LinkedIn Recruiter, events, and other creative sourcing channels is super important.
  • An eye for details. You spotted the wrong company name in that cover letter in no time flat and didn’t miss a beat when gathering important candidate data during your intake call. Nothing gets by you.
  • Results-oriented. Let’s be honest, recruiting is a wild ride every single day of the week, no matter where you work. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and know exactly how to prioritize when balancing many different projects and timelines, you'll do great on this team!
  • Creativity and Curiosity. You think outside of the box and come up with creative strategies to find great matches. You love learning and you thrive on digging in.
  • Teamwork mentality. We really like each other! And not because we’re exactly the same (because we’re not), but because we bring a positive attitude to work every day, hold ourselves accountable to our values, and want to be part of a great team. If you have a passion for creating and sustaining a positive company culture and contributing to Upside's reputation and success, we want to hear from you.

The fine print:

  • Location: This is a fully-remote role that may sit anywhere in the United States. You're welcome to work from our DC, Austin, Chicago or New York office if you're in-region! Full Covid-19 vaccination is required to work from our Upside offices.
  • Notice to recruiters and placement agencies: This is an in-house search. Please do not submit resumes to any person or email address at Upside. Upside is not liable for, and will not pay, placement fees for candidates submitted by any party or agency other than its approved recruitment partners.

At Upside, we believe that diversity drives innovation. Our differences are what makes us stronger. Weā€˜re passionate about building a workplace that represents a variety of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. Everyone is welcome here, come join us!
