standard and complex EEGs by measuring the patients head utilizing the International 1020 Measurement System and applies electrodes to appropriate positions Measures electrode impedance calibrates and adjusts EEG machine Obtains recordings using activating procedures such as hyperventilation photic stimulation and sleep Adapts methods and instrumentation to obtain optimal results based on history clinical observations and EEG findings <p> <p><strong>Ambulatory EEGs<strong> <p> <p>Ambulatory EEGs are setup and disconnected either at the referring physicians practice hospital clinic or patients home EEG recording is longterm up to 72 hours Responsibilities include but are not limited to <p> <ul><li>Prepare and calibrate equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and make adjustments if necessary<li> <li>Greeting patients at the setup location<li> <li>Obtain a summary of the patients history and current medications and supporting documentation<li> <li>Setting up the <li>Provide technical proficiency for basic digital EEG EEG Technologist will utilize the 1020 system of electrode placement to include manual measurements skin prep and electrode application Provide proper knowledge of montage selection based on patient condition At the completion of all studies properly removes electrodes clean patientequipment and process documents<li> <li>Provide critical thinking and skill to recognize and correct artifact accordingly EEG Technologist can successfully troubleshoot equipment and leads appropriately<li> <li>Potentially provide checking of the EEG system Disconnect Technicians DT may be assigned these tasks as they become available should there not be a DT available the Technologist will perform this task <p> <p>In the performance of this job the employee may be exposed to chemical vapors such as acetone ether or glutaraldehyde There may also be skin contact with these substances The employee may also be exposed to infectious agents including bloodborne pathogens <p> <p>Driving to the patient testing location is required and testing will be performed in a variety of testing facilities locations and settings <p> <p><strong>Company Vehicle<strong> <p> <p>You may have use of a Company vehicle to travel to and from patients home for setup and disconnect appointments We try to make a vehicle available per office however there will be occasions when personal vehicles must be used Ex the car is in for repairs in use by other staff members etc <p> <ul><li>A CortiCare company vehicle may be used for patient setups and disconnects When a CortiCare vehicle is used it is for patient setup and disconnect use only not for private use NonEmployee Passengers are prohibited<li> <li>A CortiCare credit card may be issued to use for gas for the company car oil changes and pre approved expenses by direct supervisor or the accounting supervisor in advance of purchase<li> <li>When a company vehicle is not available the staff member will be reimbursed mileage tolls and parking fees Rates of compensation are $30 per mile traveled to and from patient starting at the office location staff or home and all reimbursements for tolls parking etc will only be reimbursed with a receipt<li> <li>Routine Maintenance appointments and up keep of the company vehicles are the responsibilities of the drivers of these vehicles<li> <li>Expenses for the maintenance of the vehicles are CortiCares responsibility If there are any vehicle issues of any concern they must be reported to your direct supervisor immediately or as they occur ie tires brakes etc<li> <li>A valid drivers license in good standing is required Safety of our staff and its property is of utmost importance and driving defensively is encouraged at all times Drivers of CortiCare vehicles are required to observe all state and local laws including but not limited to seat belt use observing speed limits no texting and handsfree cellular use only Violations for not adhering to laws are the sole responsibility of the drivers involved and may terminate the employees use of company vehicles in some cases<li> <li>Biweekly Odometer Reporting is required when
