Senior Service Technician – Industrial HVAC & Chiller Systems
Location: Santa Clara, CA – Travel: 30–50% (West Coast, occasional out-of-state)
We are seeking a skilledSenior Service Technicianwith proven expertise incommercial and industrial HVAC systems—especially multi-stage chillers—to join our growing team. In this role, you will troubleshoot, maintain, and repair advanced refrigeration, electrical, and automation systems at customer sites across the West Coast.
Travel & Schedule
• 30–50% travel, including some out-of-state assignments.
• Most trips are same-day; air travel may require week-long stays (up to two weeks for special projects).
Key Responsibilities
• Specialize in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing commercial & industrial chiller systems(cascade, multi-stage, and process cooling applications).
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical systems per factory specifications.
• Perform control system troubleshooting, software updates, and BAS/BMS integration.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans for large-scale systems.
• Perform mechanical repairs, assembly/disassembly, leveling, and diagnostics on automated equipment.
• Conduct electrical work including schematic reading, circuit testing, and fault isolation.
• Support fellow technicians and provide technical guidance to customers.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on equipment upgrades, new product testing, and design feedback.
• Cosmetic copper brazing and piping repairs.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations at customer and manufacturing sites.
Qualifications
• Advanced HVAC troubleshooting skills, withhands-on experience in large chiller systems(industrial process chillers, cascade systems, multi-stage configurations).
• In-depth refrigeration knowledge: refrigerant handling, leak detection, charging procedures, EPA compliance.
• Strong electrical diagnostics skills.
• Experience with controls, automation, and BAS/BMS integration.
• Skilled in brazing, soldering, and welding for piping systems.
• Strong communication and computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; willingness to travel.
