Senior Software Engineer – Backend
Location:Dallas, TX (In-person)
Type:Contractor (with fast-track to full-time)
Pay Range:$110,000 – $180,000 per year

Why We Need You
Our app is built onPostgres, pgvector, Next.js, TypeScript, and LLMs via agents.
We already have a team of strong developers who can ship features in TypeScript. What we need now is abackend engineer who specializes in data optimization, security, and building AI-driven backend engines.
You’ll own the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems — ensuring that our foundation is built to win as we scale.
What You’ll Do
• Design, optimize, and scale data models inPostgres + pgvector.
• Build secure, production-grade backend engines that interact with LLMs and agent frameworks.
• Harden our systems withrobust authentication, encryption, and compliance practices.
• Architect APIs and backend flows for high reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate directly with founders and engineers to bring ambitious ideas to life.
• Help define product direction by shaping how our platform handlesdata, memory, and intelligence.
Must-Have Qualifications
• 5+ years of backend engineering experience (with at least 2 years in data/security-heavy environments).
• StrongTypeScriptskills and hands-on experience withPostgreSQLoptimization.
• Proven track record inbackend security(auth, RBAC, secure API design, encryption).
• Experience deploying inmodern cloud/serverless environments(Vercel, AWS, GCP, Fly.io).
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-ownership startup environments.
• Hands-on experience with LLM frameworks(LangChain, AutoGen, ReAct-style orchestration) — either in production systems or through serious personal projects/demos.
Nice-to-Have
• Experience withvector databases(Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant).
• Redis for caching, queues, pub-sub.
• Prisma or Drizzle ORM.
• GraphQL or tRPC for API design.
• Exposure to compliance frameworks (SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Hands-on experience with automation platforms(n8n, Zapier, Make.com) — building or scaling complex workflows.
