The Director Global Sanctions & Export Control Compliance is an important role on the Global Financial Crimes Compliance team that will be responsible for assisting with the design execution and oversight of Mastercard's global sanctions and export control compliance frameworks to ensure the enterprise meets international regulatory operational and financial crimes risk obligations.
Role:• Drive enhancements to the enterprise Economic Sanctions and Export Controls compliance programs• Adapt policies procedures and controls to keep pace with business and regulatory changes• Develop and deliver trainings and communications on program requirements across the enterprise• Drive enterprise risk assessment process for sanctions and export controls related risks including working with key stakeholders to update and document methodology• Provide oversight of sanctions screening process for customers third parties and employees• Lead enterprise response and investigations on potential sanctions-related incidents• Provide oversight of sanctions and export controls related activities undertaken by the Global Business Shared Services Center.• Support due diligence and provide integration assistance in connection with mergers acquisitions and investments Lead development and implementation of program enhancements• Provide subject matter expertise in the review of new product development• Anticipate changes to regulatory landscape and proactively evaluate expected impacts• Assist in developing and presenting senior management reporting on the sanctions and export controls programs• Assist in managing regulatory examinations and internal audit reviews
All About You: • Bachelor's degree required JD/Master's preferred or equivalent experience working within a Financial Crimes Compliance environment or having job responsibilities related to sanctions and export control functions• Required to have domain expertise in the areas of economic sanctions and export controls• Required to have operational experience managing sanctions related processes relating to risk assessments and controls• Required to have experience advising internal and external clients on sanctions related issues• Demonstrated ability to manage and work independently effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and in-depth analytical skills• Ability to conceptualize new ideas and complex technical matters quickly• Ability to monitor and interpret information for decision-making and presentation• Ability to meet schedules and deadlines with thorough accurate and quality work products• Ability to remain flexible in a demanding work environment and adapt to rapidly changing priorities• Excellent written oral listening and presentation communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and consultants• Very comfortable with public speaking and presenting to senior management• ACAMS Certification preferred

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors including but not limited to location job-related knowledge skills and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical prescription drug dental vision disability life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.

Purchase New York: $177000 - $283000 USD
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree

- Operational experience managing sanctions-related processes risk assessments and controls
- Experience advising internal and external clients on sanctions-related issues
- Experience working within a Financial Crimes Compliance environment or performing sanctions/export control functions
- Excellent written oral listening and presentation communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior management
- ACAMS certification
