This role provides strategic and operational leadership for a multi-country portfolio of health systems transformation, implementation research, and capacity-building initiatives. The Director will lead a multidisciplinary team, manage complex grant portfolios, and engage with government, academic, private sector, and civil society stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific region. Acting as a principal investigator on funded projects, this senior leader will advance innovative, people-centered primary health care strategies, ensuring measurable outcomes and sustainable impact. The position requires a balance of program leadership, team management, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement in a dynamic, global health environment. The Director will also mentor emerging professionals, support knowledge translation, and guide policy-relevant research that strengthens health systems. This role is ideal for someone passionate about global health transformation and cross-sector partnerships.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of multi-country health systems programs
  • Serve as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator on funded research and implementation initiatives
  • Direct and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including postdoctoral fellows, project managers, and research staff
  • Develop and oversee program budgets, grant proposals, and funder engagement strategies
  • Build and sustain partnerships with governments, academic institutions, multilateral agencies, civil society, and private sector stakeholders
  • Oversee program development for new initiatives, from opportunity identification to proposal design
  • Guide program design and execution of participatory, community-engaged, and mixed-methods research
  • Ensure knowledge translation through publications, policy guidance, presentations, and public-facing communications
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master’s degree preferred (experience may substitute for degree)
    • 8–10+ years of program management experience in health systems, global health, or related sectors
    • 1–2 years of experience in formal team leadership or management
    • Proven leadership and management skills with a track record of successful program development and implementation
    • Strong understanding of healthcare systems, regulations, quality improvement, and research methodologies
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
    • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to navigate complex multi-stakeholder environments
    • Experience with financial management, grant writing, and multi-million-dollar portfolio oversight
