OVERVIEW

This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end success of new features in support of Caper’s product offering, Caper Carts; a product that makes grocery shopping a magical experience for customers while delivering unrivaled value and continuously unlocking opportunities for retailers.  

In this role you are responsible for executing on initiatives tied to our product objectives and working cross functionally with design, engineering, operations, data science, and QA through delivery.  You will work to derive and review insights gathered from a multitude of sources including shoppers, retail partners, usage data, and industry trends.

About the Team

Caper builds smart shopping carts powered by deep learning and computer vision to enable a seamless grab-and-go retail experience. Caper’s unique technology is a plug- and-play solution that does not require retail store renovation, operational overhaul, heavy compute, and endless image labeling & training. Retailers simply purchase smart shopping carts and the entire store is upgraded with cashierless capabilities!

Caper is one of the fastest-growing retail automation technology products in the market, costs less than 1% of our competitions’ infrastructure and is already widely adopted in the marketplace.  Our cross-functional and durable Product team solves hard customer & business problems in ways that our customers love.  

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Responsible for the end-to-end success from discovery to launch of new products and features for our Caper Carts
  • Collaborate with Design, Engineering, Operations, and Data Science teams
  • Identify and validate opportunities via qualitative & quantitative research, case studies, and reviews of industry standard methodologies
  • Apply creative solutions, own the work, and reinvent what is possible in a constantly-evolving environment
  • Influence crucial team members throughout Instacart to align intent, resources, and prioritization

ABOUT YOU

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated passion for technology and product design - either from a technical degree, personal projects, or experience in business, strategy, or software-related roles.
  • Ability to craft product solutions for customer pain points.
  • Leadership potential and dedication to influence and empower diverse teams.
  • Passion for Instacart and our vision as pioneers in the online grocery and ecommerce industry.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working on consumer-facing products or services
  • Engineering background or strong understanding of technical implementation at a high-level
  • Experience with computer vision, software & hardware, IoT products
  • Ability to be based in the New York City area preferred but not required
