Job Description

Team: Others

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Quality Engineer in the United States.
In this senior technical role, you will drive performance engineering initiatives to ensure large-scale, mission-critical applications operate efficiently, reliably, and at scale. You will lead the design and execution of advanced performance testing strategies while collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and architecture teams to embed performance best practices throughout the development lifecycle. The position focuses on optimizing distributed systems and cloud-native applications across hybrid environments. You will also leverage modern observability tools and AI-driven insights to diagnose system behavior, predict performance risks, and guide architectural improvements. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical decisions, mentor engineering teams, and shape scalable solutions that support high-demand enterprise platforms.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end performance engineering initiatives, from requirement analysis and workload modeling to diagnostics and system optimization
  • Define performance benchmarks, KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs to ensure enterprise applications meet scalability and reliability expectations
  • Design and execute complex performance testing strategies for distributed, cloud-native, and microservices-based systems
  • Develop automated performance test scripts using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or K6
  • Integrate performance testing processes into CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps
  • Analyze performance metrics and telemetry data using observability and APM platforms such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog, or Grafana
  • Evaluate autoscaling behavior, load balancing strategies, and cloud resource utilization across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
  • Conduct advanced performance diagnostics across application layers including APIs, databases, messaging systems, caching layers, and integrations
  • Implement AI-driven techniques to detect anomalies, predict performance bottlenecks, and accelerate root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with engineering, architecture, DevOps, SRE, and product teams to ensure performance requirements are integrated early in the development lifecycle
  • Lead resilience and scalability testing initiatives, including failover validation, peak load simulations, and chaos testing
  • Maintain detailed performance documentation including analysis reports, baseline metrics, tuning recommendations, and capacity planning models
  • Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 10–18 years of progressive experience in performance engineering, system optimization, or enterprise-scale application testing
  • Deep expertise in performance engineering principles, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures
  • Strong experience designing and executing performance tests using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or K6
  • Hands-on experience working within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience using APM and observability tools including Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog, or Grafana
  • Solid understanding of database performance optimization across SQL and NoSQL technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB)
  • Experience integrating performance testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines and automated development workflows
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex system behavior and performance data
  • Experience with AI/ML-driven observability or predictive performance analysis is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of enterprise workflow systems, document automation platforms, or business process management environments is a plus
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or performance engineering certifications are advantageous
  • Benefits
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with senior engineering expertise
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale, mission-critical systems with significant technical impact
  • Remote-friendly work environment within the United States
  • Exposure to cutting-edge cloud technologies, distributed architectures, and AI-driven observability tools
  • Collaborative environment working alongside experienced engineering, DevOps, and architecture teams
  • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning in modern performance engineering practices
  • Flexible work culture supporting work-life balance
