In this senior technical role, you will drive performance engineering initiatives to ensure large-scale, mission-critical applications operate efficiently, reliably, and at scale. You will lead the design and execution of advanced performance testing strategies while collaborating with engineering, DevOps, and architecture teams to embed performance best practices throughout the development lifecycle. The position focuses on optimizing distributed systems and cloud-native applications across hybrid environments. You will also leverage modern observability tools and AI-driven insights to diagnose system behavior, predict performance risks, and guide architectural improvements. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical decisions, mentor engineering teams, and shape scalable solutions that support high-demand enterprise platforms.
Accountabilities:
Lead end-to-end performance engineering initiatives, from requirement analysis and workload modeling to diagnostics and system optimizationDefine performance benchmarks, KPIs, SLAs, and SLOs to ensure enterprise applications meet scalability and reliability expectationsDesign and execute complex performance testing strategies for distributed, cloud-native, and microservices-based systemsDevelop automated performance test scripts using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or K6Integrate performance testing processes into CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOpsAnalyze performance metrics and telemetry data using observability and APM platforms such as Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog, or GrafanaEvaluate autoscaling behavior, load balancing strategies, and cloud resource utilization across AWS, Azure, or GCP environmentsConduct advanced performance diagnostics across application layers including APIs, databases, messaging systems, caching layers, and integrationsImplement AI-driven techniques to detect anomalies, predict performance bottlenecks, and accelerate root cause analysisCollaborate with engineering, architecture, DevOps, SRE, and product teams to ensure performance requirements are integrated early in the development lifecycleLead resilience and scalability testing initiatives, including failover validation, peak load simulations, and chaos testingMaintain detailed performance documentation including analysis reports, baseline metrics, tuning recommendations, and capacity planning modelsRequirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field10–18 years of progressive experience in performance engineering, system optimization, or enterprise-scale application testingDeep expertise in performance engineering principles, distributed systems, and cloud-native architecturesStrong experience designing and executing performance tests using tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or K6Hands-on experience working within cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud PlatformExperience using APM and observability tools including Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog, or GrafanaSolid understanding of database performance optimization across SQL and NoSQL technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB)Experience integrating performance testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines and automated development workflowsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex system behavior and performance dataExperience with AI/ML-driven observability or predictive performance analysis is highly desirableKnowledge of enterprise workflow systems, document automation platforms, or business process management environments is a plusCloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or performance engineering certifications are advantageousBenefits
