## Overview
The Senior Welder will assist the Welding Supervisor in daily operations. Will be responsible for leading a team of welders ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing processes to meet production goals.
In this position you will be welding most of the time but also learning from the Welding Supervisor. This position is a direct pathway to becoming the next Welding Supervisor. Potential training includes how to program welding robots and using Solidworks to design welding fixtures.
This is a great opportunity for a SKILLED, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and EXPERIENCED welder who would like to supervise a large welding department in the future.
## Responsibilities
- Observe work to include inspection of welds, materials, equipment, and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production standards.
- Creative approach to problem solving. Able to conceive fixtures, jigs, etc. to solve welding related issues efficiently.
- Familiarity with robotic welding (Motoman/Yasakawa) is a plus!
- Collaborate with different departments to guarantee accessibility of resources, materials, and equipment essential for the production process.
- Communicate with Welding Supervisor and Production Manager regarding issues associated with the department personnel as well as machines, processes, and fabrication.
## Requirements
-Experience supervising 3+ welders in a metal manufacturing environment.
- Should be able to sufficiently speak, read, and write English with a legible penmanship. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Must be energetic and a self-starter, able to promote and implement change, have good computer literacy (email, Office), strong organizational skills, and ability to promote a continuous improvement atmosphere. Basic knowledge of Solidworks to retrieve dimensions and develop fixturing is a plus!
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, have good team building skills, excellent people skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, and understand all aspects of the department (MIG, TIG, STICK, Robots, grinding, etc.)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols and have a working knowledge of sheet metal gauges and alloys.
- Deep understanding of various welding techniques and equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
