<p><strong>Role Purpose<strong> <p> <p>The accounting manager role supervises a team of accountants The manager supervises the month end close process including but not limited to approving journal entries reviewing expense variance analysis preparing and reviewing financial statements The role reviews balance sheet reconciliations 990s and Missouri Hospital Association annual surveys in addition to ad hoc project <p> <p><strong>Responsibilities<strong> <p> <ul><li>Manage month end close cycle including reviewing journal entries and financial statements ensuring all financial transactions comply with accounting principles and standards Fixed asset and accounts receivable valuation ensuring the balance sheet is reported correctly and according to generally accepted accounting principles Communicate financial results to leaders including explanations for budget variances<li> <li>Review balance sheet reconciliations ensuring the reconciliations have appropriate and auditable support and are accurate Review balance sheet to ensure it is prepared according to generally accepted accounting principles<li> <li>Prepare year end audit schedules foot notes and work papers for annual audit Work with external auditor ensuring audit requests are provided in a timely manner and support the financial statements Work with internal auditors on providing support for internal audit and review of financial controls<li> <li>Manage and review regulatory reporting including preparation of 990 tax returns various hospital association surveys<li> <li>Have a proficient understanding of accounting in the areas of retirement plans professional malpractice liability selffunded liability programs such as workers compensation and health insurance<li> <li>Manages individuals including but not limited to onboarding and hiring training workload management amp performance evaluations conducting professional development plans as needed Ensures that the
