Responsibilities also include the daily maintenance and operations of the WAN, LAN, WLAN, MAN, and Internet edge infrastructure respective to existing IDF/MDFs, Data Center cable plants, DWDM and fiber ring topologies, etc. An in-depth understanding of multi-site / multi-platform integrated architectures with advanced device configuration skills including traffic engineering and management, QOS, route maps, VRFs, ACLs, port-security, load-balancing, high availability and failover mechanisms; overlay networks and network virtualization concepts, including OTV and Layer 2 and Layer 3 tunneling encapsulation transport mechanisms such as VXLAN, GRE, and IPSec is required.
