Senior Product Marketing Manager

Lightspeed Systems® is on a mission to ensure a safe, secure, equitable, and effective learning environment for K-12 students. To aid in this mission, we’re looking for an experienced Sr. Product Marketing Manager to help manage our brands, highlight the best features of our products, and build marketing campaigns for these with the goal of increasing sales.

As a Sr. PMM on our team, you’d have to ability to be and experience these as you research market trends and work with various departments to successfully launch new products and further the reach of our existing products.

We are a cloud-based SaaS/web company, with devices, mobile apps, and networking technology.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• You will engage early in design thinking research with Product Design and Product Management to gain conviction about market opportunity and positioning
• You will understand your competitive landscape deeply
• You will understand buyers and users pains
• You will gain a deep understanding of the target market’s challenges and how we uniquely solve them
• You will partner collaboratively with Corporate Marketing and Demand Generations on messaging, content, and campaign strategies.
• You will have a significant role in new product and feature launches, ensuring that the company understands and can communicate the value of these products and features.
• You will drive go-to-market planning: creating and executing on go-to-market plans
• You will develop metrics and reporting that not only provides management and sales with insight on the market but most importantly informs good decision making and continuous improvement
• You will partner closely and align with sales, marketing, product and customer success leaders on priorities, such that you are jointly responsible for revenue attainment
• You will establish symbiotic relationships with organizations, associations, and influencers

ABOUT YOU

• You are a messaging guru – you see things that others don’t see and are regularly told “that is a great idea”
• You can get in the weeds if needed – write a product launch email, edit the quote templates, and create in-product cross-sell ads
• You deeply care about the success of your product portfolio, and will work hard to ensure success in market
• The executive team trusts you because you use data to make better decisions and drive results
• You are not afraid to experiment and fail because you use it to learn and drive improvement
• You are not afraid to take control and lead, but you are mature enough to not need to control
• You work really well with other leaders because you don’t make it about you
• You have high expectations for yourself and your team

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE

• 5+ years of experience in a similar role
• Proven success in SaaS product marketing
• Very strong creative intellect and positioning skills
• Technical acumen
• Hands-on experience with all core product marketing functions – messaging, competitive positioning, asset creation, sales enablement, market research, and product launch
• Great communications skills and high levels of integrity and judgment
• Proven success in past leadership roles – building and growing teams, developing people, growing revenue, driving career progression
• A Bachelor’s degree as a minimum level of education

WHAT'S NICE FOR YOU TO HAVE

• Experience in K-12 market
• Have experience in high-growth companies or companies who have grown from ~$50m – $100m+
• An MBA
