This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Staff Engineer, Cloud based in India.
This is a senior cloud engineering role focused on designing, building, and scaling modern distributed systems in a fast-evolving digital product environment. You will work on architecting cloud-native solutions that power high-performance applications used across global markets. The role goes beyond hands-on development, requiring you to influence technical direction, guide engineering decisions, and elevate the quality of solutions across teams. You will collaborate with cross-functional engineers and stakeholders to solve complex scalability, reliability, and performance challenges. The environment is dynamic, global, and innovation-driven, with a strong emphasis on ownership and continuous improvement. Accountabilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable cloud-native systems and distributed applications across modern cloud platforms.
- Architect robust, high-performance solutions with a focus on reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define technical direction and ensure alignment on system design and implementation.
- Lead by example in solving complex engineering problems and improving existing system architecture and performance.
- Contribute to code quality, engineering standards, and best practices across development teams.
- Identify technical bottlenecks and proactively drive improvements in system efficiency, observability, and resilience.
- Mentor and guide engineers, helping elevate overall team capability and technical maturity.
- Strong experience in cloud engineering, distributed systems, or backend engineering roles with exposure to large-scale systems.
- Hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud-native applications on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong understanding of system design principles, scalability patterns, and microservices architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Go, Python, or similar).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex technical challenges into scalable solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional, global teams.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor peers, and influence engineering decisions without formal authority.
