Essential Functions Analyze user requirements to build a solution for the real-world problem Write and test code Improve code quality by identifying issues, testing, and maintaining the code Enhance applications by identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations Maintain and improve existing codebases and peer review code changes Maintain software systems by monitoring and fixing software defects Create technical specifications Assist with backlog refinement Establish and maintain quality assurance environment(s) Support the implementation of code in higher environments Provide technical support for the team as the on-call subject matter expert for defined applications Work with third-party partners to successfully integrate projects Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Advanced understanding of Web Services, HTTP, SOAP, RESTful, XML, JSON, WSDL, and Schema Advanced understanding of object-oriented and functional programming, Java required Advanced understanding of modern front-end frameworks, ReactJS required Intermediate understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts (microservices), practices, and trends Desire and ability to mentor, share skills, knowledge, and expertise Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience required 7+ years Java experience required 3+ years direct experience mentoring development teams on medium and large sized projects is highly preferred 3+ years experience working on an Agile Scrum team Experience with banking or financial services industry preferred DevOps experience preferred Experience with infrastructure as code preferred Ideal candidate would be located in tKansas City Metro Area.
