This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Tax Advisory Project Manager in United States.
This role offers the chance to lead and coordinate complex tax-related activities for post-closing M&A transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and client satisfaction. You will serve as a key liaison between buyers, sellers, and tax professionals, facilitating corporate tax return reviews, managing pre-closing tax refunds, and overseeing numerous simultaneous deals. The position requires strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to track milestones, monitor obligations, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, managing projects end-to-end, and contributing to high-impact financial transactions. You will operate in a hybrid or fully remote environment with exposure to a variety of M&A tax matters and strategic processes.
Accountabilities:
- Facilitate corporate pre-closing income tax return reviews and purchase price allocations with tax professionals
- Coordinate remittance of corporate pre-closing tax refunds to selling shareholders
- Act as the primary liaison for buyer and seller parties, outside legal counsel, and tax advisors
- Communicate with shareholder advisory committees regarding merger and purchase agreement obligations
- Track the status of 500+ M&A transactions for tax-related obligations and milestones
- Approve releases of escrow funds in coordination with internal teams
- Manage documentation, case notes, dates, and invoices for Tax Advisory processes
- Respond to requests in the Tax Advisory team’s inbox and support additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- 2–5 years of experience in financial services, M&A, or related industries
- Detail-oriented, precise, and highly organized
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, dates, and deals simultaneously
- Technologically literate and proficient with email and online platforms
- Strong research, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Team-oriented with ownership mentality and commitment to follow-through
- Active listening, reading comprehension, and ability to interpret legal/tax documentation
- Preferred: experience with M&A, litigation, or tax advisory processes
- Competitive salary range of $65,000 – $75,000 depending on experience
