Midwives at Boston Medical Center participate in the education of resident physicians, medical students, and midwifery students through clinical supervision throughout clinical care, through didactic lectures, and in the simulation lab. The midwifery service is a multicultural group of 30 midwives who together speak English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole, Portuguese, French, German, and Thai. We welcome another energetic midwife with a passion for birth, a commitment to serving diverse populations, an interest in teaching, and a team-oriented style. We work in a collaborative model with highly supportive obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine doctors, and family medicine physicians. Midwives also provide full-scope midwifery care to women in six neighborhood health centers, the hospital OB-GYN clinic, and our Adolescent Center to a population that is racially, ethnically, and economically diverse. The CNM hospital service includes labor and delivery coverage 24 hours/day, a daily post-partum rounding service, and daily coverage of our obstetrical triage unit. This is a clinical teaching position.
